ABOUT MILL GATE, BURY:

Mill Gate is a 400,000 sq ft community led shopping centre. At purchase in 2014 the scheme was 65% let, had lacked investment for a long time and had suffered major tenant losses with the likes of BHS and M&S leaving.

Through targeted investment in the asset and wider stakeholder engagement, RivingtonHark’s intensive asset management increased occupancy to 98% prior to the Covid pandemic.  Additional assets were bought in and RivingtonHark introduced new anchors to the scheme creating space for TJ Hughes and B&M. We actively encouraged enterprise within the local community through a targeted leasing strategy and the quality of regional and independent traders has helped the scheme improve over the last few years.

Mill Gate is located at the heart of the town and RivingtonHark’s close cooperation with the Local Authority over the interaction of the adjacent award winning Market and wider masterplan for the town centre helped to result in the scheme being sold to a JV between Bury Council and Bruntwood.
