Copr Bay, Swansea has been designed environmentally to a very high standard and being part grant funded has been thoroughly assessed by Natural Resources Wales and Design Commission for Wales.
The credentials achieved include:
- Exceeds BREEAM ‘very good’
- Sustainable Urban Drainage
- Provision of an extension to the park & ride facilities
- Extensive public realm including
- Permeable surfaces
- 125m ‘green wall’
- Extensive tree and shrub planting
- LED lighting
- Raingardens
- Solar Charging ‘benches’
- 1acre ‘coastal park’ providing new bio-diversity
- Over 416 Photovoltaic Panels on both the Arena and Pavilion (café) roof.
- Timber structure of the Pavilion Cafe
- Extensive use of local materials – around 1,300 sqm of local stone, dry-stone walling and slate roofing.
- Overall increase in tree provision, extending to wider site areas
