Copr Bay, Swansea has been designed environmentally to a very high standard and being part grant funded has been thoroughly assessed by Natural Resources Wales and Design Commission for Wales.

The credentials achieved include:

  • Sustainable Urban Drainage
  • Provision of an extension to the park & ride facilities
  • Extensive public realm including
  • Permeable surfaces
  • 125m ‘green wall’
  • Extensive tree and shrub planting
  • LED lighting
  • Raingardens
  • Solar Charging ‘benches’
  • 1acre ‘coastal park’ providing new bio-diversity
  • Over 416 Photovoltaic Panels on both the Arena and Pavilion (café) roof.
  • Timber structure of the Pavilion Cafe
  • Extensive use of local materials – around 1,300 sqm of local stone, dry-stone walling and slate roofing.
  • Overall increase in tree provision, extending to wider site areas
