Asset Manager

Are you interested in the evolution of UK Town Centres?

Business Description

RivingtonHark is a real estate investor, asset manager and development manager with a focus on UK towns and cities. The business is at the forefront of the repositioning and re-purposing of retail property and finding the long term sustainable answers for it. We are passionate about what we do and highly respected industry leaders. Originally founded over 20 years ago the company recently evolved following the merger of Rivington Land and Hark Group in April 2019.

We already have an enviable and diverse portfolio of projects with a combined value in excess of £600million with more under consideration and an ambition to grow this to £1bn. Among other things we are building new iconic live entertainment venues in Swansea, re-planning the core of Newcastle City Centre and managing an asset portfolio with annual rental income exceeding £16million.

Many of the founding partners still run the business and are heavily involved in running projects which provides a stable foundation for the business to continue to grow. Our track record and reputation has enabled us to develop and maintain longstanding relationships with partners, investors, councils and occupiers over many years. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver what we say we will.

RivingtonHark is a dynamic company that encourages fresh, innovative thinking and challenges established approaches to the issues faced in the retail property world. This is an exciting time to be joining the company as the business continues to grow and there is plenty of opportunity for career progression and helping to shape the business going forwards.

Job Role

We are seeking a commercially aware, outgoing and energetic individual to work in one of the leading UK businesses focused on the curation and transformation of retail places. The successful candidate will join the asset management team as Asset Manager reporting to the Head of Asset Management. The role will involve being directly responsible for the asset management of a number of assets across the portfolio with direct exposure to a diverse set of partners, investors and clients.

Many town centre retail assets need repurposing and/or repositioning to more closely align them with their catchment markets and ensure they are functionally relevant. This job role will involve all aspects of asset management including the creation and implementation of business plans principally designed to develop and enhance net income and value. The business plans may involve alternative uses such as residential, office and leisure and an important part of this job will be to challenge traditional thinking of how retail centres work, how they are marketed to consumers and seek to identify suitable scheme strategies accordingly.

In addition to the asset management responsibilities, the successful candidate would also be supported in efforts to source and develop new business and investment opportunities, if this were an area the candidate wished to pursue.
