Global fashion and lifestyle retailer Urban Outfitters to open new Sheffield city centre store

In another major milestone for Heart of the City, RivingtonHark are delighted to announce that globally recognised fashion and lifestyle retailer, Urban Outfitters will soon be opening its doors in Sheffield city centre.

Founded in Philadelphia more than 50 years ago, Urban Outfitters has become of the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle brands, with more than 700 stores across North America and Europe.  The retailer will shortly begin fitting out is prominent new unit on Pinstone Street, bringing its distinctive mix of fashion, accessories, homeware and lifestyle products to Sheffield.

Sean McClean, Director of Regeneration & Development at Sheffield City Council, said:

“It is great to see the momentum surrounding our Heart of the City project shows no signs of slowing down, as we see another retailer secured to move into the development.  This builds on recent openings to increase the retail offer in Heart of the City.  Our aim was to transform and generate the are of the city centre, bringing people back into Sheffield and we’ve done just that, the city centre is a fantastic place for people to live, work and enjoy”.

The addition of Superdry, along with the announcement of urban Outfitters continues to add to the retail appeal of the city centre.  This builds on recent office lettings (over 150,000 sq ft in the city), but it’s not the end, with more businesses choosing to move into Sheffield due to be announced in the coming weeks and months”.

Urban Outfitters’ arrival marks another significant step in the continued evolution of Sheffield City Council’s flagship Heart of the City regeneration project, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s leading mixed-use city centre destinations.
