Eastgate covers 750,000 sq ft scheme “linking” into town.
Debenhams, ASDA, Primark, River Island and Superdry anchors.
Harsh external environment and very much 9-5 town centre.
The objective was to help rejuvenate the town centre – not just Eastgate – along with supporting the masterplan of the town centre and helping facilitate mixed use.
The result was:-
- New market built and open
- Helped Local Authority bring in cinema and restaurants
- Refurbish part of Eastgate and consolidated retail
- Master plan of Eastgate – better integration of asset to town; more office & residential
- New residential open above shopping centre
