Kennet Centre, Newbury

RivingtonHark working with partners acquired the Kennet Shopping Centre in Newbury in 2019. The scheme comprises some 250,000 sqft of retail and leisure space spread over more than 5 acres.

Working with investors RivingtonHark have purchased of the Kennet Shopping Centre, Newbury in 2020. The centre has lacked investment and active management for some time and our role as asset managers is to improve the occupancy, activity and income from the asset whilst considering longer term options.

The 244,000 square foot square foot centre provides some 50 units along with a Vue cinema and restaurants. It sits in the heart of Newbury and close to the station.

Newbury is seeing significant changes with new development in and around the station and the Kennet Centre has the opportunity to positively respond to these.

Following the Government’s latest announcement, all non-essential retailers will close temporarily on Wednesday 6th January at the Kennet Centre as part of a national lockdown..

The Kennet Centre is still partially open for business, due to a reduced number of retailers trading we have made changes to our customer entrances. Our Market Place and Bartholomew St entrance by St Nicolas’ church will both be open for access to retailers inside our mall. The Market St entrance will only be open for access to Nando’s Click & Collect service.

As the leisure retailers are remaining closed due to Government guidance, our Leisure Mall entrances remain closed at this time, along with our Public Toilet facilities.

The council run multi-storey car park adjacent the Kennet Centre is fully open and normal parking charges apply.

Please bear in mind that opening times may be subject to change, visitors are asked to check with stores or the Centre website before they make a special trip. A regularly updated list of open retailers is available on our website
