Shopping City is the town centre for Runcorn, providing over 500,000 sq ft. RivingtonHark were brought in as Asset Managers to repurpose and regenerate the asset following a significant decline in its income.
About Shopping City, Runcorn
Our active management increased occupancy, delivered a net income increase of 35% and established a clear masterplan for the evolution of the asset.
Working with the local authority and other stakeholders various uses were identified, including a rooftop garden on one of the car parks, to provide a diverse mix of uses that better serve the local community.

RivingtonHark as Asset Managers of Shopping City (Runcorn) on behalf of the Receivers worked closely and very collaboratively with Halton Borough Council over 2 years to help develop and evolve the asset into a mixed use town centre. They did so by engaging with the Council and our local partners, listening to the views of all stakeholders, including the public and trying to find solutions to make it work.
