ABOUT ST JOHN’s, LIVERPOOL:

Currently in it’s 51st year, Liverpool’s first shopping centre, St John’s is a local icon comprising 540,000 sq ft of retail, a Market Hall, 625 space car park, and Europe’s largest digital media wall.

Since RivingtonHark’s involvement, the centre has been refurbished, repurposed and re-imagined to provide a successful, convenience led shopping destination.

The centre has continued to evolve throughout 2020; with one of the UK’s largest living green walls being successfully installed to time and in budget.  The spectacle spans 65 metres in length and contains over 14,000 plants.

Every part of the customer journey has been enhanced with a new consumer website launched with a mobile first approach.  The refreshed St Johns logo and updated branding also appears throughout the asset.

At 51 years young, St Johns is cleaner and greener than ever before and ready to welcome the people of Liverpool.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

St Johns has been loyally serving its local community since 1969 and has continued to support shoppers during this extremely challenging time.

Following the Government’s latest announcement, all non-essential retailers will close temporarily on Wednesday 6th January at St Johns as part of a national lockdown. Although some stores will be closed during this January lockdown, we remain open for essential shopping, for click and collect, and for takeaway food.

As a community shopping centre in the heart of Liverpool, we recognise that the health and safety of our customers, colleagues and retailers must be our highest priority.

As such, we will be ensuring that the Centre is re-opening in a controlled and compliant manner that adheres to government guidelines.

To ensure the Centre is ready to be re-opened to the public we have undertaken a series of measures:

  • The entire centre has been subject to a chemical deep clean of all malls, ceilings, floors, entrances and back of house. The chemical used in the clean disinfects against COVID-19 on contact.
  • The centre have implemented, and will continue with, an intensive cleaning schedule. Throughout the day, every day, all touchpoints in the Centre (e.g. door handles, tables, surfaces) will be cleaned with a chemical spray which disinfects against COVID-19 on contact.
  • Twenty new hand sanitiser stations have been installed throughout the Centre. These are free for you to use and will be cleaned and refilled regularly throughout the day, every day.
  • To make sure the Centre stays as clean as possible we have implemented photographic cleaning audits. We will be checking on a regular, scheduled basis that all touchpoints have been thoroughly and appropriately cleaned to keep you, your family, friends safe.

 

  • Footfall will now be managed dynamically by state of the art occupancy counting software. This technology forgoes the requirement for permanent entrance closures and one way systems; our careful planning means shoppers can return to a familiar shopping environment with the reassurance that their safety and wellbeing is our number one priority.
