The Liberty, Romford

Through our strategic partnership with Redical Holdings, The Liberty was identified as an asset with potential opportunity for further evolution and improvement, and held key investment requirements in a growing London location. We supported Redical with the purchase due diligence, underwrote the Business Plan, and are appointed as Asset and Development Managers.

We secured the asset at a third of the price the previous owner had paid, enabling further evolution and development. Positive engagement with all key stakeholders including the Local Authority has resulted in plans moving forward at pace.

The Liberty is a strong London asset and provides the retail heartbeat of Romford covering 790,000 sqft of space providing over 400,000 sqft of shopping and a 800 space car park. It is adjacent to Romford’s historic market and anchored by Boots, JD, H&M and Flannels.

The new Elizabeth line has opened and is close to the asset.

The focus is to build on the retail dominance that The Liberty has by evolving the tenant mix and customer experience through creating more space for Leisure, F&B, Grocery, Offices and Health & Wellbeing. We will also bring forward residential development working with the Council and other key stakeholders to unlock the full potential of the asset.
