High Quality Placemaking Delivered at Heart of Scheme
Reopening of the Square in Palace Gardens marks another milestone in the centre’s multi-million pound investment programme.
RivingtonHark has completed the latest phase of improvement works at Palace Shopping in Enfield, with the reopening of the Square delivering a significantly enhanced public realm for visitors and the local community.
The works have created a larger, resurfaced public space featuring improved seating, upgraded lighting and new planting, helping to revitalise the heart of the centre and improve the overall visitor experience.

This milestone forms part of a wider, multi-million-pound programme of investment across the scheme. Recent improvements have included the installation of new customer WCs, refurbishment of the covered mall, and the introduction of new entrance designs and signage.
The ongoing investment has also supported the expansion and refurbishment of Pearsons department store. The store’s extension has enabled the introduction of a range of new premium brands to Enfield, including Chanel, Dior, MAC, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Eye Candy and Jo Malone.
Andrew Goodwin, Project Director at RivingtonHark responsible for the construction works at Palace Shopping, commented:
“We are delighted to have completed this latest phase of improvements and to help bring new life back into the centre of Enfield. The significant investment made by Pearsons in refurbishing and extending their store is further evidence of the strength of this location. More improvements are on the way, and in December we are launching a public engagement process to understand what local residents would like to see here in the future”.
Further updates on the next phases of works and community engagement will be shared in due course.
