Chester Northgate
The vision is to deliver a phased, mixed use and comprehensive redevelopment of this run-down portion of the city to support the long-term sustainability and vitality of Chester.
About Chester Northgate
Chester Northgate is a major repurposing scheme in the heart of this highly attractive, historic and archeologically sensitive city. Encompassing the sites of the Forum Shopping Centre, the former bus station and 3 semi redundant office buildings the vision is to deliver a phased, mixed use and comprehensive redevelopment of this run-down portion of the city to support the long-term sustainability and vitality of the city.
As development managers for the project we have assisted the Council in, obtaining a major hybrid planning consent in late 2016, securing the necessary CPO, RCO and Market powers from the Secretary of State following a public inquiry in 2018 and securing numerous pre-lets including Picturehouse Cinemas.
The first phase of the scheme, representing a £75million public investment, started on site in June 2020 and is due to complete in 2022. This phase is delivering a new 6 screen Picturehouse Cinema, a new market and foodhall, new offices, 6 new restaurants, a new MSCP and extensive public realm.
